The Marine Park is part of the Natura 2000 protected network and for the last 30 years together with the nearby fish farms the area has gradually become a refuge for marine life, as fishing is restricted in the immediate surroundings. Divers can often encounter species such as groupers, barracuda, stingrays, and occasionally large bluefin tuna. On some dives, we’re even joined by bottlenose dolphins that live in the wider area, making this one of the most unique dive environments in Rhodes.
A typical dive trip includes two dives, with equipment preparation and briefing taking place at our dive center before departure. Depending on sea conditions, the first dive usually takes place near the fish farms, where marine life tends to gather as it finds shelter. For the second dive, we often visit one of the nearby wrecks, either the Blusky Wreck or when conditions allow the Pytheas Wreck, a 134-meter World War II Liberty Ship and the only accessible wreck of its kind in Greece. If conditions are not favorable, we remain within the Marine Park for another scenic dive.
During the surface interval, we usually take time for a short marine biology discussion about the aquaculture farms and the surrounding ecosystem, while cruising through the area where dolphin sightings are also possible.
Our dive trips are kept small and personal, typically with 2–5 divers accompanied, allowing us to adapt each dive to the conditions and the experience level of the group.
This dive program is suitable for Open Water divers and above, offering a relaxed and authentic Mediterranean diving experience with the opportunity to explore both marine life and historic wrecks.
